Alright, before I blog about anything else, I must say that....
I'M GONNA DIE from all that second hand smoke I breathed in the past few days. My freakin god, everybody from Hong Kong all the way to China, they smoke cigarettes like they were sucking on candies. It was worse in Swatow, China. I swear. It's like... whew. I was just inhaling all that smoke every second while I was there. You can smoke practically everywhere in China.
But I understand, since it's really cold there, at 15 degrees? No play play ok. Everyday I spend a really long time in the shower, coz I didn't wanna get out from the hot water and face the cold outside. It's just cold everywhere. When the wind blows, you die. I think, I really pretty much prefer the hot weather in Singapore over the cold. Honestly.
However, with 4 seasons, come a wider sense of fashionability (if ever there's such a word). I see better dressed men in Hong Kong. Really. I think they know how to dress up better than our boys here.
And speaking about their people, MANNN HongKongers.... Ok, I heard they can be very rude people. I dislike acknowledging what people say all the time, because if I don't see it for myself then well, you just shouldn't believe it totally. I'm being very level-headed at the same time. They have nice people. But mannn, some of them, especially the hawkers, fffffffking impatient and yes, rude. They simply can't wait I tell you. I think it's part of their culture I guess, so I think, if I were one of them, it's kind of like, a way of life. But as strangers of their country, it would be difficult to understand their customs?! Wahlau, how'd you like if someone smashed your chee cheong fun in front of you. OK, I was just kidding nobody smashed anything but they are just. so. unhappy. all the time?!?
WHY?!!
My first encounter was at the immigration check point. First thing I see when I come to your country is YOU! Wah lau eh, the dude was just so freakin fierce. I mean, I understand they need to possess a level of authority but really, some things were just not necessary. SHAN'T GO into details.
But with all bad things, come good things.
I'm just gonna talk about Hong Kong for this post first. It's really too much for one person to bear to report on a week's activities.
Hong Kong has the.... (who am I joking)
BEST DIMSUM EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Kinda forgot about that. But well, you'll see some gorgeous looking dimsums soon and before I talk too much, let's start the post with pictures from my XZ-1. I still think my cammie's awesome. ;D
Day 1

The mandatory airplane-in-clouds picture. If I were you, I'd go "lame".

Hong Kong! (Outside my hotel)-Metropark.

The Peninsula Hotel. Not peninsula but
THE Peninsula Hotel. Not my hotel of course, coz it's the most expensive hotel in hk, that's what I heard. So duh, I ain't so rich to stay there. It's equivalent to The Fullerton in Singapore.
But I got to dine there! ;D Hahah.

I love this picture. The light shines through those big heavy glass doors. Magnificent.

Words in gold.

Pretty!!

This one pretty too! Oh gross, can't believe I just said that.
High tea! Haven't had pastry presented to me like that before.
Yeah, you'll get to see more food in this post and China post. It's just a food/guilt trip this whole week. I ate and ate and ate like a freakin cow. Am not surprised if I put on a few keeeeloz. But that wouldn't matter, coz I wouldn't know. I don't own a weighing machine.

Pretty tea thingums.
They drink loadsa tea btw. It's a Chinese thing I guess. Tea is good.

What I had as well.
It's English on the first half of the first day in hk. The rest you'll see are completely Chinese food. I love Chinese food, really. What can I say, I am Chinese. Asian food, in general.

I think everyone who goes to Hk, has been here. Or will go here. It's almost like Orchard Road.
I must say, as a whole, Hong Kong is pretty similar to Singapore. Except for the weather.

Vulgar building.
Avenue with the Stars. Something like Hollywood.

The cityline was cloudy like shit on the first day so there was nothing much we could see.
Nonetheless there were the likes of,
and
WA-TAH!

Not too bad now.
The supposed "mist" is actually pollution, I believe.
Oh btw, just to let you know, I went on this trip with my parents. My bro couldn't go coz of you know what. The army.

I'm not sure if this was Mongkok or somewhere called Tsing sua or something like that haha. I think it's the latter.

Busy

Our "Guardian", is their "Mannings"
Freakin vulgar again. Just doesn't sound right ya know? Mannings?

Had Claypot rice here. Really good. You should try it here. With the cold weather... shiok only. In fact, anything hot and steamy is just awesome.

Ladies' Market.
Supposedly the British named this place that. Forgot the reason why.
Day 2

May!! I came here! ;D
All the outlets~ Hahaha.
Took the cable car first tho.
Took the crystal cabin up there. Crystal, meaning the floor's transparent.

My dad was pretty amazed by it, kept wanting me to take pictures of the floor with our shoes.

On the way to see...

THE BUDDHA
The view of the buddha from the cabin.
Once we reached,

Had a raspberry icecream.

The thrill of having an ice cream in cold weather. It never melts. Haha.

DENG DENG DENGGG.

Pretty far, but I can see him
Gotta climb that flight of stairs, about 200 steps.

Omg, he's getting closer.

AND I SEE HIM!!!!
Not really. The sun was facing us. This is his silhouette.

Better.
Ginormous. Quite magnificent really. Tho the Buddha made us squint every time we looked up to him.

Buddha's Angels.

Like this picture

Meddling with the super macro function of the cam. Technology.

There was a beautiful temple up ahead. And we saw joss sticks so bloody huge. I dunno how many wishes you can make with that or how colossal your wish is.

Hi cow.

And Goodbye Buddha.

On the way back. I like this picture. Wished the glass wasn't so dirty.
At night,

One of the best egg omelettes ever!! I know they call it something in dialect but I forgot. Orneh? What?? With the hum inside.

Beef noodles. Ahhh~
Theirs come in clear soup.

Mongkok.
I like their night markets. I enjoy walking along the stalls and seeing what they have to offer.

Lady making you char kway.
Back to Hotel,

Hong Kong's MTR. Yeap you heard me right. It ain't the M-R-T there. In fact, Singapore copied HK's style of railway transport. Very similar huh? Easy way to get around.
For some reason, I kinda like seeing everyone around you dressed in coats and jackets.. in winter clothes. Something I don't see everyday.
Day 3
On the way, in search for the best dimsum.

Spotted this outside one of the hotels along the way. So pretty huh?
Took quite awhile before we finally reached the place.
Maxis Palace.
Omg, THE BEST DIMSUM I TASTED!!!! Here. Really good. Dad followed a travel book and planned the itinerary. The quest for dimsum was worth it.

We were early at around 11am. Note the empty chairs and tables. And watch them fill later on.

Fancy tea.

Dunno what's this called but it tastes good!
I mean, the ladies come in pushcarts, so we take whatever that looked good.

So cute huh! Their carts even have this little screen to show pictures of what their cart has to offer.

Char sau pau

Chee Cheong fun!

Tentacles

CHICKEN FEET!!!!!!!!! My favourite oh ma goodnezz. Like I already took a few before taking this picture, explaining the void.

Black Sesame jelly thingy.

Mango Pudding. Yum-my.

Macro shot of exquisite china
and...
HERE YOU GO!!!
By the time we were leaving,
FREAKIN FULL HOUSE!!!!!!!!

With a queue outside.
Up next, my favourite place in the whole of my Hong Kong trip.
Stanley Market.

The way there.
I mean, throughout the trip so far, all I saw were buildings after buildings and this place was quite scenic. Very lovely.

HK's houses. Their apartments come in these mini sizes.
I swear, they are damn small and their buildings are damn high. Moreover, they don't come cheap. They are pretty expensive in fact... Be thankful for your HDBs. Coz honestly, some of their buildings don't look well maintained. Ours, re-painting every 5-10 years?

Ahhh, this place reminded me of the UK. It was loveeeely. Without the weather, it may be a different thing. But with the cold, it really felt like I was in Europe again

I had to take a picture.

Bought a number of things in Stanley Market.

It really is Europe. I'm not kidding you. Check out the ang mohs. Quite a lot of them there. It was transformed into Europe.

Beautiful
That's that and we headed back to the city for dinner

Fancy schmancy.

O-ooooooohhhh

Snake soup! ;D
Outside,

Nice cobbled steps

Your father owns this

They still have those buses running on lines now. Pretty cool. Like Singapore used to have that but we brought it down after the British left. Whereas they, kept it. Wonder if it's a good thing or not.

Apple store for my bro to see
Took a ferry at night,
To view the clear cityline now,
I like cityscapes. Even Singapore's. They look...amazing at night.

Clock tower

Sorry, but erm, height difference?
Is it just me, or..

Second picture, freaking disturbing.
Priority seats. Random: I've never sat on a priority seat in my life. How righteous ;D
Day 4
Met some of my other Singapore relatives coz they were all heading to China too. But first, to Macau.
I thought Macau was pretty damn boring. There's nothing much, really. I'm always wondering who actually lives there ya know. Like, seriously

Dim sum in the morning

Flower taking ritual

The Venetian. One of the casinos we went to.

Looks quite majestic but alas, they're all fake. Just look at the sky. How beautiful. My ass.

Gambling hide out.
Headed out of the casino after a mere 30 minutes to see what's left of Macau.

This place was not too bad tho.

Went to St.Paul's Church.
Looks like a Muslim temple or something in the picture. Just a regular church tho.

Ruins.

The wall looks quite pretty.
But I've seen a lot of these in the UK so this looked quite meh... But while I was in Britain, I wasn't appreciative of them. Now I kinda am.
Nevertheless, at least they still have this wall left standing.

Look at the number of coins thrown. People think it's a wishing wall -.-

Mom bought some goodies here.
Had an egg tart here. Damn nice. Eaten too fast before I could snap a picture of it heh.

Nice alley.

Wonder what they were campagining for. Something about the black hole.

This one, really too much ah.
Walking back,

I found this.
The whole stretch of road belongs to Lionel HHAHAHA. His canton name's Wing Sing. You lil CANTONESE BOY. I even found you in Hong Kong hahahah.
This is the best,

Gui ling gao!! Hk's damn nice!!!!! Singapore's damn bitter. Theirs'... omg, heaven. I LUVVIT. Best, the stall was just outside my hotel and we had it almost every night.
Finally,

Cherry tomatoes to end the day. Bought in Macau and they were hella good!
That was Hong Kong for youuuuuu~~~
I'm damn tired now. Supposed to sleep early so I can head to hall tmr morning. Decided to stay at home for a full whole day coz I am just too tired... travelling about the whole week. Unfortunately, a blog post usually takes a few hours for me. Urgh.
Ok, I'm off nowwww. See you in my post for Swatow, China. Good trip.
