Nah, you won't wanna kiss a face like that. As you can see, skin dry around the mouth. Slight break out at the T-Zone. And wonky eyes. Anyway, other than the eyes, they're all due to me being down with runny nose and a lil itchy throat. I ate too much fried and toasted stuff one day and my throat started getting itchy and it got to my nose, plus the weather is just insane. SO I"M DOWNNNNN.
I was thinking just a few days back that I was impressed with myself for not falling sick at all. How strong. How healthy. How awesome. But at the back of my mind, I knew that whenever I thought this way, I was bound to fall sick somehow. It's like this unconscious thought thing. Like you know you're healthy then die, you kena struck by the bug. Siao leh. Jinx or something.
And it's kinda funny how I had flu for the first 2 weeks I arrived here coz I was adjusting to the weather. Now, the last 2 weeks of my stay here, the flu bug revisits. For winter.
Just hope I recover ASAP.
Anyway, went out to town with Jong Seon my Korean lover to do some thrifting at op shops that are like shops that sell vintage second hand clothes. It's amazing.... How I came back empty handed LOL!!! We visited a total of at least 4 thrift shops and I didn't even buy a thing. I attribute it to the fact that I wasn't feeling so good. No mood to shop at all. And it wasn't helping that these second hand shops felt dusty and musty. So, today wasn't the best day to be out and about.
Nevertheless, we had a good meal before the shopping at a cafe/restaurant/bar called Furnace.
I, of course did not add that heart thing to the picture hhaha, Jong Seon did.
$12 for a meal and I find that reasonably priced! I expected 15 and above soooo, yay. I had Pork Belly which tasted very similar to our shao rou. You know that pork thing with the crispy skin on top? The super bagus one. Well, the one here had mashed potato. I didn't imagine it to turn out like the Asian one. I suppose they copied it from us. Nevertheless, it was yums. The waitress recommended it man. Coz I'm Asian? SPEAKING OF THAT,
Guess what?
They asked for our ID when we first entered the restaurant. Fair enough, I thought, hmm.. probably coz maybe it's a bar... tho it's lunch time.... But they wouldn't even take Jong Seon's passport as a form of identification? Wth?! That's like the highest and most authentic form of proof you can get from us man. I didn't bring mine, only my Singapore NRIC card. But anyway, passport also cannot?! The clubs and bars everywhere else accept passports man? So, the manager said we're supposed to get this i-forgot-what-card-name if we want to stay in NZ. That's strange coz all throughout our 4 months stay here, we NEVER got asked show our ID at restaurants. Only passports at bars. SO we were just huh, what?
But, there wasn't much hoo-ha at least. No drama. Coz eventually they still let us sit and dine in.
I wouldn't wanna think it this way... but.. racist? I dunno.
Yes, we were the only Asians around. Then again, was it coz we were too young? But, we aren't!
Do they not want tourists eating in their restaurants? Nah, they wanna earn money right?
SO WHAT IS IT? Or are they the only restaurant that actually follows the strict guidelines? Strange strange strange.
My other friend immediately cried RACIST, when I retold my tale. I would love to cry RACIST as well, but this one I truly can't fully concur.
Oh well, the food was good anyways.
And I guess, we're never coming back again. Coz we literally can't. No time left to eat another char siu pork belly lol. Good luck with the rest of the Asians going in tho.
We had a lava cake as well with coconut ice cream. YUMZZZZ. Chocolate intake everyday, checked.
To be honest, I have no intentions on stopping my binging. I think.. I wanna see how far I can go with my weight gain. It'll be extraordinary to go on the weighing scales and see the meter go FROOMMM. I definitely gained weight judging by what and how often I eat. I don't own a weighing scale at all though, here or in Singapore. But we'll see. And yes, hopefully I lose it all when I go back. Otherwise, Char Sau Pau me here I come boysssss. Filled with yummy goodness inside ;D What's more, I'll be binging on Singapore food once I'm back. So. Wait to see a new me guys.
In the meantime, here's me.
We saw these beautiful pink flowers.
No longer in NZ. It's Japan bros.
Hahaha
Do you see what I see? LIKE WTF RIGHT?
I just had pork belly and THIS? Hanging on someone's fence? Freaky.
Nobody does that man.
The sky, while walking back from town.
I'll miss seeing these endless clouds.
Then we saw this tree full of autumn leaves. Ya know.. it's always been my dream to take a really pretty shot as I lay on the leaves and pretend to be really happy.
So I tried.
And freakin failed miserably.
Pretty leaves though!
Just went to sign some memoribilia at a house. And am back here.
It's 12:14am now. I'm going to bed. And pray my flu goes away.
Tired from today. All that eating is quite scary. But well, when the stomach growls, I growl LOL. Whatever. I'm tired can't think. See ya.
